What Every Young Photographer Needs to Know

These days people like to joke--Almost harshly at times--That every girl with a camera thinks she is a photographer. While there may be some truth to it, many of those girls (and guys!) out there have great potential.

I was a girl with a camera in my hand a short few years back. I started my business while still in high school, and a few years later, had my first year of college under my belt, a thriving business, and had shot internationally. Everyone has got to start somewhere. I've since graduated, gotten married, and expanded my business to educating the next generation of photographers.

However, it is a competitive market--Completely aside from all of us young people. So if you want to succeed, you've got to set goals, and be intentional.

I do not want to recreate the wheel--There are enough photography tips and tutorials to fill a library--And I will frequently share helpful links and tips I have found useful. But I do want to share the things I think work, and the things I wish I had known a while back. And I want to create a place where you feel like you can find a lot of the resources you need in one spot.

The learning process is just as important as the product--But I would like to make that process a little easier for you than it was for me.

I do not like reading long blog entries. So I'm going to try to keep the individual posts short, sweet, and insightful.

But get ready, because there are a lot of things every young photographer needs to know!
